Only for robots

There are many times when my children's artwork inpires me to make a toy, but never more so than when it involves a robot. This is Harry's robot shop; I love its name, "Only for robots".

See that one second from the left? I love his control panel. I had to make one just like it.

Here he is. His name is "Bill", and he is going to be a birthday present for a person I know who likes handmade things. Even silly robots.

  1. That drawing is wonderful. Four really interesting robots whom I'm sure 'Bill' would love to be friends with.

  3. Hi Jen - I was thinking about posting a comment about the quilt - which is lovely by the way and then there is a robot post as well. I love Harry's drawing. Little kids have such a great imagination adn I love the way you've transcribed some of that into a robot as well. Hope you are enjoying your holidays!!! Love Marg

  4. He is a robot with a great attitude. I can see why you had to make him.

  5. Our Bill took him to bed last night, I think he will be off to the studio, where all the favourite things go. Bill said he deserves to be painted so that's something to look forward to for both of them.

  6. Love the robot. I have enjoyed browsing through your blog (I navigated here via your sister's sewing blog).

I liked your post on making jelly - and it inspired me to make some apple and rhubarb jelly, which I even got round to blogging about. The colour was amazing and I resisted the temptation to squeeze the jelly bag, so it was lovely and clear (not a tsk tsk to be heard).

  9. Oh, I like Bill very much! We've addressed my robot's drinking problem and it's been smooth sailing ever since. He's looking at me as I type. Sam's been drawing Monster/Robot heads and he wants them to be scary but they're so darn cute!
